I would like to thank all the staff for
the positive changes in attitude that
I have seen in my son Samuel, since the
first day of school. He is so happy and
I also noticed that he is being more considerate, obedient
and open about his thoughts and feelings.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude
to all of you. He now sees school as a
great place where he learns things in
a fun way. He looks forward to school
and all the different activities of each
day.
I love the idea of the children going
for visits to the post office, newspaper
office etc. There is nothing like actually
seeing the places that you study about
in books. It will make the lesson unforgettable.
I appreciate the fact that you take the
trouble to make up for lost school days
on Saturdays, as this reduces the stress
of covering topics in time for the teacher
as well as the students.
The fact that homework was less was one
of the reasons I had enrolled Sam in Gurukul.
You have lived up to your promise of sending
minimal work and it has helped me have
more time to spend with Sam, just talking
or playing and being a mother instead
of a tutor at home. After school hours
are not dreaded by both of us now.
I have to express my sincere appreciation
to Ms Deepa and Mr. Sajeev for painstakingly
teaching the children and being willing
to go back to basics and making sure that
the children really learn their Hindi
and Malayalam. Hats off to them for their
patience, perseverance and dedication.
Most of the teachers in other schools
would have given up and asked for tuitions
to be conducted at home. I also would
like to thank Ms Geetha and all the teachers
who teach the other subjects and conduct
the various activities. The idea of the
'What to do day' is great. It will help
the children to think and speak out their
ideas and thoughts.
I have to thank you for your newsletters.
I look forward to reading it. Even if
there isn't much news like you say. It
gives me a glimpse of Sam's days and lets
me know about the other children, their
achievements, about the teachers and school
events. It's sad that you are planning
to make it a less frequent occurrence.
If it's possible, could you make it once
in 2 weeks instead of once in 2 months?
As a major part of Sam's day is in the
school, getting to know what's happening
there is something that we look forward
to.It makes us feel more involved with
the school and with our children's lives.
Please do continue the good work. I look
forward to the next interesting development.
With all my gratitude and appreciation,
S Shankar - RBI
My son Achyuth is a student
of Class V of The Gurukul. Each day I make it
a point to ask him about the happenings in the
school. The proof of a child’s liking for
the school lies in the enthusiasm to go there.
Today, amidst pouring rains, Achyuth was very
keen to go to school, even to the extent of braving
the rains to wait for the bus that was running
late. I was so impressed by his enthusiasm that
I decided to take leave and drop him to school.
It is a confirmation, if at all one is required,
about the student friendly teaching methods being
adopted at The Gurukul. I nowadays find myself
being amazed by the range and depth of knowledge
that Achyuth has picked up since he started coming
there. What’s particularly gratifying is
not just the fact that he is able to talk fluently
on various subjects like types of rocks, but his
conviction when he talks on these subjects. Only
a proper understanding of the subject than mere
reading of the lessons would have brought this
about. Through this mail, I wish to convey my
sincere appreciation of the way The Gurukul is
shaping Achyuth up. Hats off to you and your team
of selfless and dedicated staff.
